Si a lo mencionado se le suma un manejo muchas veces\nineficiente por parte del productor, una mala nutrici\u00f3n, que necesariamente es\nfundamental para lograr mejores producciones, y un clima que no es el m\u00e1s\nadecuado (ya que la mayor\u00eda de la producci\u00f3n se hace en secano, lo que limita\nsu potencial) los m\u00e1rgenes para invertir en nuevos desarrollos gen\u00e9ticos ser\u00e1n\nmuy limitados. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed lo piensa Zingoni, que particip\u00f3 como uno de los\noradores en las Jornadas Nacionales de Alfalfa, desarrolladas este mes en el\nCampus de la Universidad de Villa Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTenemos a\u00fan muchas deficiencias en el manejo del\ncultivo. Como se mencion\u00f3 en las jornadas, las plantas que vos no lograste al\nprincipio las perdiste, y no las vas a tener en segundo y tercer a\u00f1o. Tambi\u00e9n en\nlo que refiere a nutrici\u00f3n, hay una brecha que tenemos que cubrir. Si nosotros\nqueremos aumentar la producci\u00f3n, la cadena de la alfalfa se tiene que juntar,\npara que al productor de alfalfa se le pague bien por una buena calidad, y as\u00ed\nel productor lechero est\u00e9 bien remunerado tambi\u00e9n por su producci\u00f3n, sino, no\nhabr\u00e1 inversiones destacadas en nuevas tecnolog\u00edas. Es todo una cadena, por lo\nque no podemos tomar el tema de desarrollos gen\u00e9ticos como algo disociado\u201d.

\nSi a este contexto, sobre el que Zingoni entiende que hay mucho por mejorar, se\nle suman problemas en el mercado \u201cel \u00faltimo a\u00f1o se cay\u00f3 un 40% en alfalfa en\nparticular y un 20% el de las forrajeras en general; m\u00e1s un aumento de la\nsiembra de alfalfa ilegal en Argentina, se est\u00e1 conspirando con cualquier\ngen\u00e9tica de punta que puedan tener la mayor\u00eda de las empresas\u201d, destac\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frente a un escenario de nuevos desarrollos, Zingoni\ndijo que para que el Grupo Don Mario y Forratec puedan entrar en edici\u00f3n g\u00e9nica\n\u201ctenemos que tener una cierta masa cr\u00edtica. Tenemos que darle mucho volumen\npara poder ingresar all\u00ed, pero creo que la gen\u00e9tica convencional y lo que\nestamos haciendo hoy en d\u00eda es un tema que sigue vigente y va a seguir vigente\npor los costos que tiene el cultivo\u201d, subray\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


10 claves para lograr el mejor lote de alfalfa<\/strong>
En el marco de su disertaci\u00f3n \u201cPanorama de la alfalfa en Argentina. Evoluci\u00f3n del \u00e1rea, progreso gen\u00e9tico, certezas en su manejo\u201d, Zingoni puso \u00e9nfasis en la idea de respetar ciertas claves para lograr una buena alfalfa:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selecci\u00f3n del lote:<\/em> La alfalfa crece mejor en suelos profundos, bien drenados, con capacidad adecuada para contener el agua y pH sobre 6.5. Tambi\u00e9n es importante tener un buen control de malezas el a\u00f1o anterior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An\u00e1lisis de suelo:<\/em> El nivel de pH debe ser de 6.5 a 7.5 con fertilidad alta. F\u00f3sforo 30 ppm, Boro 1.5 ppm y azufre 15 ppm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elegir un buen material:<\/em> Con alta persistencia y rendimiento<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preparaci\u00f3n del lote:<\/em> La alfalfa necesita una cama de siembra de textura suave, libre de terrones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siembra-pulverizaci\u00f3n:<\/em> La alfalfa debe sembrarse superficialmente (de 0,5 a 1.25 cm de profundidad) y usarse el rolo compactador para maximizar el contacto de la semilla con el suelo. Sembrar con el lote libre de malezas y pulverizar en pre-emergencia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Densidad de siembra:<\/em> Se deber\u00edan lograr 350 plantas por metro cuadrado a los 100 d\u00edas de la siembra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control de malezas:<\/em> Controlar malezas en pre-emergencia para que el lote arranque limpio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control de insectos:<\/em> Controlar trips y pulgones en implantaci\u00f3n, junto con gusanos de suelo. estar atento a los pulgones en los a\u00f1os sucesivos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corte o pastoreo (cosecha):<\/em> Cortar o pastorear entre bot\u00f3n floral y floraci\u00f3n temprana. No antes, porque produce estr\u00e9s en alfalfa. No despu\u00e9s debido a la p\u00e9rdida del valor nutritivo o calidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Refertilizaci\u00f3n:<\/em> Refertilizar despu\u00e9s del primer y tercer corte o una vez despu\u00e9s del primer corte. Usar an\u00e1lisis de suelo para definir el f\u00f3sforo, potasio, azufre y boro necesarios.<\/p>\n
