Incrementar el consumo del forraje de alta calidad producido por las pasturas es la manera m\u00e1s econ\u00f3mica y sostenible de aumentar la productividad de las empresas ganaderas. Para esto, es clave realizar un manejo eficiente del pasto y su pastoreo. Para enfrentar este desaf\u00edo, especialistas del INTA brindar\u00e1n las pautas en una charla en el Congreso Aapresid, hasta el 8 de agosto en La Rural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan adelant\u00f3 Germ\u00e1n Berone \u2014investigador del INTA Balcarce, Buenos Aires\u2014, quien disertar\u00e1 sobre \u201c\u00bfCu\u00e1les son las claves para una buena gesti\u00f3n del pasto?\u201d, junto con Mart\u00edn Bigliardi, representante de la empresa Gentos, \u201cmediante un manejo eficiente es posible obtener una m\u00e1xima producci\u00f3n y cosecha de forraje de calidad y una adecuada persistencia de la pastura\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y agreg\u00f3: \u201cLa optimizaci\u00f3n de estos factores permite convertir en producto animal, d\u00eda a d\u00eda, la mayor cantidad posible de la energ\u00eda y nutrientes que ofrecen nuestras pasturas y verdeos\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este sentido, subray\u00f3 la importancia de monitorear y conocer la cantidad de pasto (kilogramos de materia seca por hect\u00e1rea, kgMS\/ha) y la tasa de crecimiento diaria (kgMS\/ha\/d\u00eda) que ofrecen las pasturas y verdeos para llevar adelante un manejo eficiente de los recursos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asimismo, destac\u00f3 los beneficios de invertir para conocer y manejar de manera eficiente el recurso m\u00e1s importante y barato de la ganader\u00eda: el pasto. \u201cHay que recordar que es el principal alimento de los sistemas pastoriles y, para poder utilizarlo eficientemente, como ocurre en cualquier sistema de producci\u00f3n, se debe conocer el stock de pasto en tiempo real la disponibilidad y su tasa de crecimiento\u201d, sentenci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para optimizar producci\u00f3n, calidad y persistencia, Berone recomend\u00f3 \u201cmantener \u2014durante todo el a\u00f1o y en toda el \u00e1rea bajo pastoreo\u2014 un valor promedio de biomasa o stock de pasto y consumir \u2014a diario\u2014 una cantidad de forraje por hect\u00e1rea similar a la tasa de crecimiento diaria por hect\u00e1rea\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y advirti\u00f3 que, \u201caquellos sistemas que diariamente consumen m\u00e1s pasto del que crece por d\u00eda reducen el valor de stock establecido, afectan los rebrotes subsiguientes, deprimen la productividad de la pastura en el corto plazo e incluso afectan su perennidad por sobrepastoreo\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cambio, los sistemas que consumen a diario menos pasto del que crece, aumentan el valor promedio de stock, pero son ineficientes desde el punto de vista productivo porque una gran parte del forraje producido muere y se cae en lugar de ser consumido por los animales. Incluso, \u2014agreg\u00f3 Berone\u2014 suelen incurrir en suplementaci\u00f3n innecesaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En conclusi\u00f3n, \u201cconsumir mayor o menor cantidad de pasto del que crece reduce el uso eficiente y sostenible de los recursos\u201d, afirm\u00f3 el especialista del INTA. A su vez, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que, adem\u00e1s de la tasa de crecimiento, se debe prestar atenci\u00f3n a otras cuestiones como la cantidad de biomasa disponible a la entrada y la salida de los animales en cada potrero y el tiempo de ocupaci\u00f3n de las parcelas, entre otros aspectos complementarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una muestra con eje en el futuro del agro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bajo el lema \u201cProgramamos el futuro del agro\u201d, la Asociaci\u00f3n Argentina de Productores en Siembra Directa (Aapresid) realiza el Congreso Aapresid 2025 que ser\u00e1 en la Ciudad Aut\u00f3noma de Buenos Aires del 6 al 8 de agosto en el Predio de La Rural de Palermo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
